They're volunteers at the Fire House Gallery -- (seated) Christy Dunkle, Samantha Clark Gauldin, Jeanne Krohn (standing) Lil Ledford, Nancy Bishop, Patricia Perry, Alice Irvan  -- who paused for a photo during a recent brunch.

Sue Hickman

Quilts and Quilt Note Cards

Creative to her core, Sue has explored many mediums but always returned to her love of sewing, piecing, and quilting. Her works run the gamut from hand pieced and quilted traditional designs to original artistic expressions and machine quilting. Her works hang on the walls of clients, friends, and family and also provide warmth and comfort covering numerous beds. Now, her works also grace the cover of blank note cards, perfect for framing or to give as a gift, with or without a personal missive.

Sue was born and raised in Virginia. As a military wife, she lived around the world. She gains inspiration from nature, history, and from her travels. Sue has taught others to quilt where ever she’s been “planted” and she has participated in both local and regional juried shows. Her works have earned numerous awards.

While Sue and her husband Dave, an avid wood turner, set down roots in Clarke County in 2001, they also enjoy their home on the Maryland Eastern Shore.
