Pottery and Photography

My work with pottery started after seeing an ad in the paper for a pottery class in Berryville. I found that I really connected with the clay.   I honed my craft under the tutelage of David Norton, a potter from Loudoun County and regularly attend workshops with renowned potters as a member of the Shenandoah Potters Guild.  Because I love sharing what I know about pottery, I have become a pottery instructor and studio manager at Round Hill Arts Center in Round Hill, VA.

I find working with clay, shaping and forming something that was once part of the earth to be very therapeutic. My own studio, Red Deer Pottery is at my home on the mountain just east of Berryville.

In addition to pottery, I also do photography having learned about composition, texture and light, etc. as a member of the Shenandoah Photographic Society.
