Elizabeth Duncan

Oil Painting on Canvas, Wood, and River Rock

I grew up on a farm in upstate New York and started drawing at a very early age. I took some art classes as a child and adult but am basically self taught, and so have developed my own style and though I have used several mediums, I now work exclusively with acrylic paints.  I have always had a love and fascination of old barns, so as a result my paintings are mostly of country scenes.

In 2001 two events shaped my current artistic technique: my family and I moved to Boyce, VA on the Shenandoah River and I found a book on rock painting by Lin Wellford.  Living on the river I had all the rocks I needed and so developed a new love for rock painting.  I sell my art work at local venues and at my booth during the Blandy Farm Mothers Day Spring Plant Show.
