Belinda Sillars has established herself in England and elsewhere in Europe as a renowned equestrian and animal sculptor of considerable talent.  She has a particular gift for capturing the time, look, character and spirit of the subject.  Her use of patination (the coloring of bronze) has become her unique signature.  This technique, together with the depth and scope of bonze as a medium, enables her to work on challenging and complex images, from a small trophy commissioned for The World Racing Championships to a life size “Fox on the Bird Table” as a garden statuary.

Her work has been widely exhibited in Great Britain and, in 1996, she held a solo exhibition in Bond Street, London.  In 1998, she was part of The Air Gallery’s London exhibition entitled “The Thrill of the Chase- a New Look at Hunting in Art”.

Belinda’s work is primarily undertaken on a commission basis.  For example, in 1995 and 1996, she was privileged to undertake two private commissions from Her Majesty the Queen for herself, and was also commissioned by Her Majesty’s Equerry, Sir John Miller.  A significant number of her pieces are also used as trophies within the equestrian world, including Racing (The Epsom Derby Trial), Eventing (The Horse and Hound Chatsworth Horse Trials Trophy), and Dressage (Hickstead International Dressage Trophy).  Her clients include a variety of other leading equestrian institutions, such as The Jockey Club, The Pakistan Polo Team, Rajputs Regiment, and The Women’s International Polo Association.  Her private clients have included Lady Charles Beresford, Lord and Lady Walker, Lady Hartington, Lady Derring, Countess Mapelli Mozze, Lady Richard Wellesley, Lady Trenchard, John Dunlop (Racing Trainer), Jenny Pitman (Racing Trainer), Mrs. Barry Hills (Racing Trainer), Angela Rippon (TV personality), and Johnny Francombe (a well known jockey and author).
